Hey, I’m Shakunt. You can call me Shak if that’s easier!
I did my undergraduate MEng in Aeronautics from Imperial College London. I’ve always surprised others (and often myself) when I gush about how much I love a blend of good design in engineering. The truth is, I strongly believe engineering any product is useless unless it is solving someone’s problem and doing that is impossible without design; design connects the human to the solution.
Having worked on novel design concepts in the aerospace sector, it is clear to me that the best solutions are never the ones where we jump straight into the intricacies of it. You can read about my approach here.
I aspire to solve the most pressing challenges in society using inspiration and processes from the aerospace field; something not seen since the Streamline Moderne era! I am passionate about using ‘thinking on paper’, CAD modelling, engineering analysis and prototyping methods to formulate these solutions.
When I’m not doing any of these, I’m playing badminton, doodling or learning to fly. I’ve promised way too many friends that I’ll fly them to France for lunch one day!
